Web Design. Web Production.
I’ve just discovered that Opera’s latest desktop browser has a feature that lets you view a web page in “handheld” mode.
It emulates the default behaviour for the mobile versions of Opera so that you can use Desktop Opera as a development environment for your mobile sites.
Hit SHIFT-F11 and if your site doesn’t have a handheld style sheet, the page will be reformatted using Opera’s Small-Screen Rendering technology to fit the screen width of a mobile phone (250 px, I think). All author styling is ignored.
However, if a handheld style sheet does exist for the site, it’s rendered as designed using only the supplied style sheet.
