swfIR is a new progressive enhancement technique utilising JavaScript and Flash to give you an assortment of visual effects to apply to any or all images on your website. It scans through your page and adds some new flavour to standard image styling.
swfIR (swf Image Replacement) is here to solve some of the design limitations of the standard HTML image and its widely-accepted associated CSS values, while still supporting standards-based design concepts.
I enjoy playing around in Photoshop so it’s probably something I wouldn’t use on my personal sites but I can certainly see the advantage of using this on a clients site to embellish images uploaded through a CMS. Not only is it simple to use, but it’s also simple to deploy.
It’ll be very interesting to see how this develops and what new effects are added to the tool.

Yahoo! has just aquired jumpcut
Jumpcut is a video site, but the coolness is their web-based online video editor. With an easy to understand Flash interface you can rearrange and trim clips and add snazzy transitions. Also cool: you can email video from the video camera on your mobile phone to the site. Every video has a “remix” button, that when clicked makes the video you’re watching editable and mixable with your own content or other content on the site.”
